Creative England, the creative business accelerator has announced today a joint initiative with leading independent communications agency, Karmarama, to champion and support the best small creative and digital businesses across the UK.
Launching next Thursday 7th July at CE Live: Northern Lights in Manchester, Creative Nation will challenge the country’s most talented rising stars in the creative and digital industries to develop innovative solutions for brands and businesses across a wide range of economic sectors.
CE Live: Northern Lights will include an innovation and creativity showcase aimed at any company looking for inspiration to fuel their business growth through collaboration with creative disruptors. These bright Northern stars will include a company that has created an evidence presentation system that culminates in saving the Government millions, and an innovative service which automatically creates track metadata using audio finger printing, data aggregation and algorithms!
In the first initiative of its kind, Creative England and Karmarama will jointly develop a unique programme, offering large corporate brands access to an innovation pipeline of over 450 creative companies and partnership opportunities, including the UK’s most acclaimed creative and tech small business names in this year’s CE50 list.
As part of the programme, Creative England will allocate up to £500,000 of regional growth match funding for investment into creative briefs and the development of innovative projects. Karmarama will be responsible for opening the initiative to large brands, with the aim of fuelling business growth through cross-sector collaboration with small creative disruptors.
Creative Nation will offer two specific programmes:
Creative England Talent will give creative businesses the opportunity to respond to specific innovation briefs developed in conjunction with Creative England and partner brand organisations. Up to £250,000 will be match funded and made available to the best applicants to develop the briefs.
Creative England Accelerate will focus on providing ongoing, flexible support to digital companies responding to specific client needs. Selected businesses (up to 8) will receive an ongoing programme of support and advice, delivered through a series of workshops, showcases and one-to-one business mentoring, as well as direct investment (£250,000 will be made available per programme).
