Join us on the 26th October for Converge: Connecting the worlds of Games, Film and Tech
Join Creative England and a host of industry-leading speakers from the worlds of film, television, games and technology to discover the ways technology is changing the way we create and consume content, and the skills needed to keep up in a rapidly evolving and converging industry.
ProConnect Converge is aimed at media and content producers, freelancers and post-production companies who want to explore the future of the industry and experience the technological advancements which are propelling content creation into a new age, and is part of the ProConnect Manchester programme.
Advancements in technology such as VR, AR, 360 photography, performance capture and graphics are driving unprecedented changes in the media we consume and how we consume it. With these advances come not just innovations in content, but brand-new ways to experience art, to be entertained, and to explore. ProConnect Converge is a one-day conference set to celebrate the colliding worlds of games, films, TV and tech, and to explore the opportunities emerging in the spaces between these once-segregated arenas.
The immutable march of CG into the Hollywood mainstream was the tip of an iceberg – TV interactivity, smartphones capable of VR, video games starring A-list actors and Hollywood blockbusters made using games engines are now the norm. Traditional boundaries are breaking down as these new ways to experience media and entertainment require new ways of working together across a myriad of different media.
In this neoteric space lies a wealth of opportunities that are just starting to be tapped into, from new businesses and new jobs, to new audiences and new ways to collaborate. Converge will explore this exciting new space: what's happening now, what's coming tomorrow, and how to make the most of the opportunities this new landscape presents for invention, for collaboration and for new business.
