Our ProConnect Hertfordshire programme continues next month with a day of workshops and masterclasses teaching you the skills to perfect your pitching style. Here are 5 reasons not to miss it...
1. Learn from the experts
Our pitching masterclass is led by Grant Keir, an experienced film, documentary and cross platform producer, whose work includes From Scotland with Love, A Very Unsettled Summer, and Silent Laughs. Grant is an EAVE graduate, Board Member of the Sheffield International Documentary Film Festival and regularly mentors and teaches pitching and business skills, receiving glowing reviews for his previous ProConnect workshop.
2. Expand your network
Creative England has a huge network across the country, spanning television and film production, SMEs, growing digital technology companies, game developers, and big brands. Connect with companies and individuals at our workshops, and arrange a one-to-one with Creative England so we can connect you with contacts who can help your career.
3. Content is shaped around you
The Pitching Workshop & Masterclass has been designed by DV Talent to teach you how to present yourself in your best, most confident light, and how to say it in a clear, concise and compelling way. Regardless of what stage your career is at, being able to pitch in a convincing way is a priceless skill – one you will learn at this day-long session.
4. No such thing as a free lunch?!
The programme is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Creative England, which means there is no cost to attend & lunch is included.
5. Glowing testimonials
‘The best four hours I have spent in a seminar in many years’
‘Really good workshop led by someone who’s done it’
‘I found the points allowed for a reflection on how I present and also an
affirmation of the overall approach. The 5-point plan, key messaging, boiling down etc. are all being adopted with immediate effect!’
‘Good balance of formal / informal. Industry credentials and expertise really add value. Timeframe was perfect – sometimes these events are too short or painfully dragged out’
‘I thought that this workshop was well constructed, informative, interactive, and extremely well presented by Grant Keir. I was amazed at how challenged I was by such seemingly simple exercises, and how well they made me look at pitches from the Producers perspective. This was both eye-opening and very informative, I can honestly say that what I learned will stay with me from now on, and has revolutionized my approach and understanding of pitches and presenting those pitches. I am very grateful for the presentation, and for Grant’s sharing of his vast experience. His honesty and perspicacity really made a difference to me. He was also very inclusive, warm and funny. I enjoyed hearing other people’s stories and how they had got there, and what they were about. Overall the best four hours I have spent in a seminar in many years. Thank-you Grant Keir, Creative England, and DV Talent.’
A day of ProConnect pitching workshops is taking place at Elstree Studios on 14th September. Spaces are limited, make sure you register in advance.
