GamesLab Leeds Workshop: Finance and Funding

Calling all games & digital companies in Leeds! We are bringing you a workshop on Access to Funding to get you and your IP to the next level! Please book HERE

Games Lab Leeds in association with Ukie is hosting a two-day workshop on Access to Funding. This will be presented by a host of industry experts and will cover all different types of funding available for games companies and how to maximise the resources available.

Topics will include:

Getting your Games Company Investor Ready An overview of the BFI Cultural Test Video Games Tax Credits: how to maximise and raise money against VGTC Building Value in your Games Company Alternative Funding: EIS/SEIS What do investors look for How to prepare for a publishing deal Crowdfunding pro's and cons And more!

The course is fully funded by GamesLab Leeds, a programme of funding and business support for talented, ambitious games studios in the Leeds City Region. Through this programme companies creating games or games-related products can access investment and mentoring to help their businesses grow. GamesLab is funded by the European Regional Development Fund, supported by the Regional Growth Fund.

Eligible attendees

  •  SMEs registered at companies house, sole traders, micro businesses, social enterprises where these are engaged in economic activity
  • Actively working in the games sector ie at concept stage, or developing a prototype, early access release or game for commercial release
  • A company working in the tech and digital sector but with ambitions to diversify into games

Please note:

If the eligible attendee is sole trader (as opposed to an SME registered at Companies House ) then we will need some proof that they are actively working in the industry, for example an invoice for freelance work.
