Creative England Announce Partnership with The Imaginarium

Creative England has today announced at its flagship 'Creative England Live 2016 : Catalyse' event that is has joined forces with renowned, European digital and creative technology studio The Imaginarium Studios to create a joint venture as an independent games publisher. It will be developing and curating new global games content and IP across multiple games platforms and applications.    

Creative England will work with The Imaginarium Studios to help develop and grow the UK games development community. The market leading partnership will enable greater opportunities for small content creators to flourish, mobilise and scale up both in the UK and internationally.     

Creative England’s games and marketing teams will identify and support talented individuals and companies in the games sector across the English regions, bringing between 5 – 10 games to market in the first 12 months of the partnership. The newly formed independent publisher will bridge the gap between small and dispersed game developers and global games publishers, acting as a crucial intermediary to broker commercial deals between the grassroots talent and the global players.  Hear actor, director and motion caption pioneer Andy Serkis discuss the new venture below:

The Imaginarium Studios is a British digital studio based in London, founded by actor-director Andy Serkis and producer Jonathan Cavendish in 2011. The studio, regarded as a pioneer in cross sector creative and technology innovation, specializes in applying motion capture technology in film, television and video games. It has provided performance capture for international films including 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' (2011) and more recently Coldplay’s video for the 2015 single 'Adventure Of A Lifetime'.
